In February of 2025 Michael's mom, Nancy passed away and through his sadness he wanted to write a song for his mom and so he went up to his home in Friday Harbor Washington (The San Juan Islands) in October of 2025. There Michael composed and recorded an instrumental song called "Requiem For Nancy." The music moved him so that he decided to do an entire album of these peaceful and meditative songs, so back to his home in Reno Nevada Michael composed and recorded new music everyday until the end of November and completed his latest work, "Reflections."

The album went live on December 5th and "Requiem For Nancy "was placed on Spotify's Release Radar for new music on Friday December 5th, on Nancy's birthday.

In 2019 Michael was asked to compose the music score for a film called The San Juan Sentinels, Lighthouses of the  San Juan Islands. Michael's orchestration for the film was lush and added just the right touch to the beautiful landscape of the San Juan Islands. This soundtrack features Michael's composition The Fairy Kings Dance.

Michael Richard Stosic composed and recorded the original score for the beautiful documentary / film San Juan Sentinels for the Friday Harbor Film Festival. The music from the film is absolutely beautiful with lush orchestration from Michael. You can find this film on YouTube.
